Hi,

Has anyone tried refilling the HP 940 cartridges for the Officejet Pro 8500? Specifically:

1) Are these refillable? Can the original low-capacity carts that come with the printer be refilled, or can you only refill the XL versions? (like the 564 vs 564XL)

2) And if the low-capacity carts can be refilled as well, then can they be refilled to the same amount as the XL versions? ie. do they have the same amount of space internally as the XL (so no need to buy XL for high-capacity refill)?

3) What good quality compatible ink is available for these cartridges? It appears that all 4 colors (black, yellow, magenta, cyan) are pigmented inks.

I've searched the forums for both Officejet Pro 8500 and HP 940 without success. Hopefully someone can shed some light.
