Lolo- Can you clarify what you mean by > "only that the last one offers profile chart of 50 patches vs 729 patches of the Spyder3Studio SR"
I just ordered the CM-Xrite and Im hoping I didnt make the wrong choice. Also this is my first calibrator, when I see you guys talking about charts is it something that comes with the unit or do I need to buy one of those too? I see CM sells them separately.
This information is on the X-Rite site about the ColorMunki Photo device
RGB and CMYK Printer Profiling
* No need to read individual color patches – ColorMunki’s superfast scanning can rapidly measure test charts in less than one minute!
* Simply scan one 50-patch test chart, and ColorMunki will learn how your printer behaves with these colors and dynamically generate a second chart of 50 patches. Then print and scan this second chart of 50 patches and your profile is perfected!
I cant say that the ColorMunki Photo is a bad or good device, but if 50 patches(total of 100 after a second 50 chart) are enough to obtain a accurate profile why his bigger brother the X-rite 1XTreme (way more expensive $1495.00) & Datacolor Spyder3Studio produce bigger charts, you do the math. Is well known that the more amount of patches will produce a more accurate profile. If you purchased the ColorMunki Photo you wont need to get another device...charts are the prints with the 50 little color patches you will scan with the ColorMunki device. In my opinion any of the above products is better than nothing, don't matter which one you choose is better than just guessing on how your prints are going to look.

If you buy ink from Milkling, Precision store owner, I sure he going to create a profile for you. May need a little work between you and him. Just shoot him an email and ask him about that. He is very nice and take a good care for his customer.

Not wanting to steal away Mikes business or spam though so if he gets back to you all to the good.

He's posted up today that he's back in the saddle and catching up... (ref) so he should be back with a reply soon... I'd imagine there's a fair few messages and things he has to catch up on.
