I mentioned the smudging before. Only meant to point out the humorous irony. In reality there is no reason to believe the labels were printed using the canon pigment ink just because they are on the bottle. Milking answers my comment and says they smudged because they are laser printer paper used in an inkjet and handled before drying properly.

However I do have one of his ink refill kits for my canon mp50 printer (PGI5-bck and cli-etc). The black ink resulted in a perfect nozzle test. However when I printed a black page and compared it with an identical page printed with official canon ink the image specialist ink was noticeably paler and less sharp. It seemed to bleed into the paper more.
However in general use it works adequately and it is only when you have the two prints side by side that it is noticeable. I am thinking about getting some kpm ink though, but it is tricky as it is not mentioned around much, especially in the english language.

Excellent point. I have seen different paper that behave differently on a same ink from a same printer. I have seen Canon OEM pgi-5 printed so so quality text on some cheap paper. But it is still the top dog as far as I can tell.

Already tried several pigment blacks for my BCI-3eBK and PGI-5 cartridges (including Hobbicolors pure pigment PMT-Black), but the KMP pigment ink still rules supreme. The black is really deep black like the original Canon pigment black and completely waterproof.

I am looking for advise on how to provide brush strokes on ink jet prints. The purpose is to simulate the feel of a real painting by providing brush strokes on my ink jet prints. Pl provide inputs on what sort of materials need to be used and where I can procure them. Suresh

It can be don with Photoshop using its built-in Brush Stroke filter. If you don't own a Photoshop you can try Open Source freeware GIMP. It works just like photoshop and it's free to download and install under MS Windows.
